Candle Care

A great candle experience is all about the little details. With proper care, your candle will burn cleaner, last longer, and keep its fragrance true—creating a calm, beautiful atmosphere every time you light it.

Before You Light: Remove all packaging and make sure the wax surface is free of matches, wick trimmings, or debris. Always place your candle on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, vents, fans, and anything flammable.

The First Burn Matters Most: Let your candle burn until the wax melts all the way to the edge of the jar. This can take 3+ hours, depending on your environment. Wax has a “memory.” If you extinguish the candle too soon, it may begin to tunnel, affecting burn time and performance.

Wick Care for a Clean Burn: Trim the wick to ¼ inch (6 mm) before every burn to reduce soot and keep the flame steady. If smoking occurs, extinguish the candle, allow it to cool, trim the wick, remove any trimmings, and relight.

Burn Time & Safety: Burn for no more than 4 hours at a time to protect the fragrance, wax quality, and vessel. Never leave a burning candle unattended—burn within sight at all times. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Do not move the candle while it’s lit or while the wax is hot. Avoid blowing out the flame—using a snuffer is recommended for a cleaner finish.

Storage & Care: Store candles in a cool, dry, dark place. Heat, sunlight, and moisture can soften wax, impact burn performance, and weaken fragrance over time.

Natural Wax Notes: Because our candles are hand-poured and made with natural wax, slight variations may occur. Minor frosting, sweating, small air bubbles, subtle texture changes, or slight color differences are normal and not considered defects.

When Your Candle Is Finished: Discontinue use when about ½ inch (1.3 cm) of wax remains at the bottom of the vessel to help prevent overheating and protect surfaces.
